What Is Drug Testing?
Drug testing is the analysis of a biological sample such as urine, hair, blood or oral fluid which will detect the presence of drugs or their metabolites. These tests may be used for various reasons such as:
- Pre-Employment Testing- This is testing typically utilized by employers who require pre hire drug testing before hiring an applicant.
- Workplace Monitoring- random/periodic testing typically used by employers.
- Reasonable Suspicion- Drug testing that occurs when an individual is exhibiting specific signs/symptoms of drug or alcohol use.
- Post Accident Testing- Testing administered after workplace accidents or incidents in which drug or alcohol testing may be required.
- Alcohol & Substance Abuse Testing-Drug and alcohol testing which will assist in diagnosing, treatment and monitoring of drug or alcohol use.
